Animal farm open for visits
Visible from the village and at a distance of about 500 meters, in beautiful natural surroundings, lies the farm of Thalori retreat. The stables and outbuildings are located within a large area where herds of sheep and goats graze freely in the open countryside.
The farm raises domestic animals and produces high quality products that are then consumed at Thalori retreat's restaurant.
Together with the sheep, goats, piglets, chickens, rabbits, cats and puppies, live 14 adorable horses which are used for freestyle riding by the guests of Thalori retreat.
At the farm, visitors can simply take a stroll, participate in organized animal care and cheese making activities, and of course go horse back riding.
A day on the farm
Life on the farm starts early in the morning. Animals run on the clock of nature, so your excursion begins close to dawn aboard the jeep from Kapetaniana headed to the pastures where goats and sheep graze freely. There, together with the shepherd, you will call and round up the animals to examine and feed them and, depending on the season, milk them to make cheese.
You will then arrive at the stables to take care of the other animals there. Bunnies and chickens, piglets, peacocks, partridges, puppies and kittens, along with 15 adorable horses, await in turn for your care. Once here, after checking if everything is okay with the animals, you can clean the area and feed the animals. There is always time for a hearty breakfast on the farm to enjoy the fresh eggs you have just collected from the hens, cheese from the sheep and goats, rusk prepared in the kitchen of Thalori retreat, sweet honey, and a warm beverage made from mountain herbs.
After your healthy and delicious breakfast, the activities continue. The horses require special care and exercise. You will brush them, groom them, and take them out. Those who wish can ride or walk the horses.
Your adventure will come to an end when you return with the horses to the stables.
Having spent 6-7 enjoyable and productive hours in nature, you will then return to Thalori Retreat.
